A research study was conducted to evaluate the effect of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell wall (YCW-Glucan) as prebiotic on productive parameters of broilers chicken (Cobb 500). A total of 210 one day old broilers chicken were used in a Completely Randomized Design and with three treatments T1: concentrate (C), T2: C + 0.05% YCW-Glucan (0.5 kg ton-1 of concentrate) y T3: C + 0.10% YCW-Glucan (0.10 kg ton-1 of concentrate) with seven repetitions of 10 birds each one. The variables were measured at 21, 35 and 42 days. The results showed that T3 (concentrate + 0.10% YCW-Glucan) produced the best (P<0.05) feed intake (3812 g), body weight (2017 g) and feed conversion ratio (1.89) in broilers chicken at 42 days of age. No significant effects (P>0.05%) were observed between T1 (3751 g, 1617 g, 2.32) and T2 (3642 g, 1648 g, 2.21) related with productive parameters. In conclusion, addition of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cel wall (YCW-Glucan) at level of 0.10% in the concentrate is a promising prebiotic alternative in broilers chicken production.
