Abstract

Presently in Honduras there are few initiatives oriented towards the inclusion of information and communications technologies focused on the improvement of the educational system and enhance the process of teaching and learning using current technologies. The following research aims to determine the feasibility of implementing specialized learning environments through such platforms in rural schools in Choloma as there is lack of access to educationoriented technologies in this sector. The calculation obtained through the SROI (Social Return on Investment) shows that for every dollar invested the social return of investment will be $4.012 quantified as benefits. The results demonstrate that the implementation of the project is viable and that the obtained ratio is 4.012:1. The projections for the following 12 years shows positive impacts valued at $1,034,582.55 as direct benefits to the community and stakeholders.
