Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Guidelines for publication and evaluation of articles
Agricultural Production and Sustainable Development establishes the following guidelines for the presentation of the different research articles, in order to be published within it.

Extent of articles Articles must not exceed the limit of 8,000 words, or have less than 4,000, in the format established by the journal.
Format of presentation of articles Articles must be presented in MS Word format, in font Times New Roman, source 12, to a space of 1.5 between lines and 6 points between paragraphs; Text to a single column with justified alignment. The margins of each page should be 2.5 cm. Upper, right and lower; And the left of 3 cm.

Presentation of graphs, tables and illustrations Graphs or illustrations must be presented in .TIF or .JPG format in high resolution (300 dpi). Each article should include, where appropriate, graphs, tables and illustrations that reflect statistics and visually the data. Failing this, if the author and / or authors do not consider these elements necessary for the presentation of their article may omit them; As long as the information does not lose quality in its presentation.

Summary Each article in your abstract should contain a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 250, clearly indicating the subject, objectives and main conclusion.

Keywords A list of four to six key words referring to outstanding aspects of the research should be attached, as well as facilitating the location of the article in databases.

Author's information Each work must be accompanied by the author's identification sheet established by the journal, in addition to the Affidavit regarding the authorship of the article (See Annex 1 and 2).

Footnotes The flying number or superscript for bibliography and explanatory notes will be used.

Citation It will be quoted according to the standards set by the American Psychological Associaton 6th Edition, (APA).

References An unnumbered list of the sources used will be placed at the end of each article. The presentation of the same should be done according to the rules established by the American Psychological Association 6th Edition, (APA).

Article structure The presentation of the various articles will be carried out through two different formats: Original research articles and Review articles. For considerations of the magazine, the following formats are defined and detailed:

Original research article: Document presenting in detail the original results of completed research projects. The structure of the original research article should have the following parts:

  • Summary
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Materials and methods
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusions
  • References

Introduction: Collects information about the purpose of the research and the importance of the research. It should also include the objectives, problem statement, hypothesis (if applicable) and conceptual framework. These elements should be presented clearly, without falling into unnecessary depths and without items.

Materials and Methods: Describes in detail the manner in which the study was conducted from the type of research, population and sample (if applicable); Instruments used for the collection and processing of information.

Results and Discussion: This section summarizes the most relevant data collected and the type of analysis performed, which in turn respond to the problem presented in the introduction. The internal structure of this section will depend on the quantity and type of data collected.

Conclusions: After presenting the results, we proceed to evaluate and interpret their implications, especially the one related to the main purpose of the research that is to answer the question. It is recommended to emphasize the importance of the results and the validity of the conclusions.

Review article: Document resulting from a bibliographical study that compiles, analyzes, synthesizes and discusses published information on a theme of the area of agricultural production or sustainable development, in order to account for the advances and trends of development. It is characterized by presenting at least 50 references. The structure of the review articles should have the following parts:

  • Summary
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Development
  • Conclusions
  • References

Introduction: The background and reasons for addressing the subject under review are presented.

Development: The method used and the selection criteria to obtain information are explained with precision, in order to avoid bias in the review, presenting in a clear way the synthesis of the results found and the most relevant aspects.

Conclusions: These are written based on the most important inferences during the review. They must also be clear and forceful, without being superfluous or wandering in the connection of ideas.

Arbitration process
All articles are reviewed by the Scientific - Editorial Coordination, which verifies the fulfillment of the criteria requested for the publication. After this review, the documents are sent to the Scientific Arbitration Committee, who evaluate the scientific and academic quality of the same, through the double-blind process. The journal takes a maximum of 60 days to notify the author. Accepting the articles and making the adjustments and the precisions, to that they take place, these happen to correction, in whose process the particular style of each author is respected. This correction is of form, never of content. In addition each evaluation pair must attach the article valuation form. In special cases in which the author (authors) receives a notification with observations and this (these) do not comply with them, it is at the discretion of the publisher the publication or rejection of the article.

Special Considerations

  • The editor is the one who has the authority and authority to publish or reject the articles of investigation, after having passed an arbitration process.
  • All work submitted to the journal must include an affidavit attesting to the originality of the product. This form will be signed by the author and / or authors. 
  • Any modification to the articles will be duly consulted to the author and / or authors to make them.
  • The texts will be original or revision and should not be considered for publication in another magazine and / or national or foreign book. Neither should they be published in digital repositories or similar public domain, formal or informal.
  • Each author contributing a published article will receive a copy of that journal number. Once published the article in Agricultural Production and Sustainable Development, the author can not divulge communications or opinion articles on the same research in another magazine or medium.
  • Unpublished articles will be returned to the authors without modification, accompanied by a clarifying note.
