Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the level of happiness reported by workers in the educational sector in Valladolid, Yucatán; specifically at the top level. The method used was a descriptive and correlational study, using an online survey directed at workers of the Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Valladolid; for this, the subjective happiness index known as the Cantril Ladder was used. The same indicator used in the World Values Survey to measure happiness and in the World Happiness Report, 2020. With the information collected, measures of central tendency and a comparative analysis between happiness index and income were carried out.The survey was answered by 31 workers in which an average Happiness Index of 6.65 was reported; standard deviation of 1.94 and a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 on the scale 1-10. The index in the institute is relatively above the 6.46 average for Mexico reported in the World Happiness Report in 2020. The correlation between happiness index and net salary shows a direct relationship with an upward trend line; that is, the higher the salary, the higher the satisfaction rate.
