Abstract

A critical analysis of the current legal instruments is carried out, which regulate the conditions in which green and carbon finances are formed, evolve and consolidate in the forestry productive sector of Honduras, and their viability, impact and evolution are established from the point of view of critical legal view, identifying its effects and experiences, as a means to define a strategy and legal proposal that, based on reality, will lead us to an optimal implementation of green and carbon finance in the Honduran forestry production sector. For this, an analytical-descriptive bibliographical and field investigation was carried out, which collected, in addition to the legal status in environmental matters, the opinion of the main actors related to the productive forestry sector of the country, obtaining as a result data that put in evidence the need for reforms in national legislation and the redirection of state institutions and agencies; the level of interest on the part of the authorities, wood industry and other related professionals; the level of applicability of the laws; and finally, a strategy and participatory proposal that will guarantee the development of green finance and carbon in the forestry sector in Honduras.
