Abstract

For the spread of peace to be possible, it is necessary to address the roots of conflicts and violence in a comprehensive manner, aiming at their resolution and investigating their motivating factors. Thus, when the origins of a conflict or violence are not fully analyzed, the desired resolution cannot be achieved. In this sense, the field of Peace Studies theorizes from white and Western perspectives and concerns that gave rise to the field. Therefore, it is pertinent to question the influence of the epistemology of ignorance in the construction of knowledge in the field of Peace Studies. Based on this, the objective of the study is to investigate whether there is any evidence of this scenario. To reach this purpose, this study uses an bibliometric analysis method of two journals in the field of Peace Studies: the Journal of Conflict Resolution and the Journal of Peace Research.
